PHILIPS LIGHTING ELECTRONICS NORTH AMERICA PURCHASING DEPARTMENT HOSTS ANNUAL SUPPLIER DAY
On April 11th, 2007, Philips Lighting Electronics North America Purchasing Department held its Annual Supplier Day in Rosemont, Illinois at the Rosewood Restaurant. Over 125 attended, the majority being Partner and Preferred suppliers.
Theme for the day was Supplier Quality. The day’s agenda began with a welcome by Tony Chiappetta, Program Chairman, followed by CEO of Lighting Electronics North America, Mr. Brian Dundon.
Brian kicked off the days presentations and was followed on the agenda by Pat Bartling who shared Operations Updates. Pat was followed by Tom Bosworth who updated our supply base on the New Business Lines. Jim Krupka shared our new Global Supplier Rating System followed by Ling Chan who shared the latest Supplier Quality data. Jeff Smith was our last presenter before awards and lunch. Jeff shared our enhancements to the supplier portal including internal enhancements that were made to our VMI program.
The program continued with the presentation of awards recognizing supplier performance in 2006 as well as the efforts of Philips Lighting Electronics North America's associates who support the Purchasing Department. LENA recipients of the ‘’High-Five-Award’’ included Don Cummings, John Leeseberg, Bob Davis, Frank Ma, Michael Zhao, Luis Acosta, David Best and Dave Bratt.
Advance also recognized the ‘’Manufacturer’s Representative of the Year’’ – Mr. Mike Dombrow of JMMM Inc.
Two suppliers, St Microelectronics, and Aerovox Inc. received ‘’Vendor Initiative Awards’’, recognizing their development of programs, which improved processes and enhanced efficiency within LENA’s supply chain. A ‘’Technical Innovation Award’’ was presented to Midcom Inc. for their contributions with Component and Design Engineering.
This year we awarded a record high 11 ‘’SRS Awards’’ recognizing suppliers with the highest supplier rating system scores. The suppliers were Century Metal Spinning Company, Rubycon America, A.C.T (Hsiang Kuo), Reddy Service, Taiwan Semiconductor, Shindengen America, Inc., Nucor, Kelco Metals, Gulf Semiconductors, Champlain Cable and Mylar Electronics.
The 2006 Philips Lighting Electronics North America Supplier of the Year honors were awarded to – A.C.T. (Hsiang Kuo).
The day’s activities were concluded with a presentation by Sr. Director of Purchasing Mr. Matt Saviello who concluded the days presentations with a Year in Review.
